It could be a repeat of last week, Dolorosa stand on the podium looking out over the students of Fortitude, "Welcome students, I hope you have had a good week. I enjoyed watching you battle, even if we have lost the first round. Don't look down, there are many rounds to come."

If you were here last round you may notice that Nanami, Fortitude's prefect, is missing, "Before I go on and announce the winners of last round and the new Players for this round, I would like to inform you that breaking the rules is not allowed and will not be tolerated. Nanami has been punished for behavior unbecoming of a prefect, if I will punish her I will punish you as well.

"It is worth knowing that the rules are on page nine of the player handbook which you all have been given. Any one who cannot read may request a copy be sent to their PDA, an advanced PDA will read the rules to you. Please do not break the rules and give me an excuse to punish you" The peaceful smile on her face may be a bit disconcerting.

"Since we have covered that, we can now move on. While we did not win the round I would still like to congratulate you on a wonderful round. Conquest not only won more battles than us but one of their players hit the win condition. If you turn your attention to the screen behind me it will show the battles found by Fortitude."

On the screen behind her the Battle records for Fortitude and the Inter-school battles that they had fought were shown. She read the Fortitude battle records first.

She smiles kindly at the crowd, "I'm proud of you, there were very few Fortitude only battles, only one in fact, Dave vs Kotaru, congratulations Dave for winning.

"Also in fighting Conquest you all fought valiantly and I am proud of all of you. Extra notice goes to Dave for beating Feferi, Spain for defeated Golbez, Vriska for defeating Feferi, and Lelouch for defeating Homura," she claps politely and expects the others to clap as well.

"While no one in Fortitude won this round I would like to extend our congratulations to Conquest for winning and particularly Lithuania for winning the round. We should be gracious losers and fight harder next round. There is nothing to be ashamed of."

The battle records disappear. "Next I welcome our new students who joined us yesterday, you have been placed into a very kind school, so please enjoy your stay. Now I have here the list of those chosen to be Players this round, for those who have just joined us this means these students and faculty are the only persons with rights this week. The rest of you have no rights, you may be granted rights by being owned by a Player." Her smile doesn't waver, "I'm sure all of you will grant your Weapon's rights.

"To own a weapon you must vow to them, you know the vow has worked when they receive a shield mark on their hand," she held her own hand up to show to new ones what it looked like. "Players may give their Weapons permission to access the school facilities, and to eat from the full cafeteria menu among other things. If you haven't got a Player then you are a Discard, make sure you know all the rules and do exactly what Nanami tells you to, as after today she will not be punished. There is no school today but I suggest you use the time to vow to Weapons if you are a Player or find a Player if you are a Weapon. School is Monday to Friday starting 8am, I look forward to seeing you in my classroom."

[ Looking for distraught people? Look no further! Jade has managed to hole herself up in the nearest corner and is currently looking like she might be suffering from some sort of illness, she's that pale. Fight? She doesn't want to fight! She'd rather be dead than be fighting, she just got to this stupid school, she has no idea what she's doing....

Her name wasn't called, so she has no idea what's going on any more. Feel free to approach. ]

[Oh hey that didn't take long at all. She happened to spot Jade and walked right over to her.] You okay, ze? Did your name get called or something?

[ She shakes her head, wiping at her eyes. Not gonna cry in front of strangers, nope. ] N-no, it didn't. I don't know what's going on any more.

That just means you're a Weapon and not a Player. Unless someone vows with you, you're a discard. You don't get any rights until someone vows with you. If you want, I'll vow with you and give you rights. [In exchange for helping her later but she won't say that. No use in coercing people until she has leverage. Oh and you get reassuring smile from witch-girl over here. You can trust her!]

What do I have to do? I mean, as a Weapon... [ She finally looks up, the picture of naivety. TOTALLY 100% TRUSTING Jade smiles back, a little hesitant. ] I haven't read the rulebook yet.

[That was too easy.] Well first I gotta vow to you and you gotta accept it, ze. Then if I have to battle and need to use you, you'll have to come to the battle. It's kinda weird, but your weapon is inside of you. You'll have to read the rulebook on that, it's hard to explain. But otherwise you just go to class [which Marisa doesn't do often] and act like a normal student [which Marisa doesn't like to do[ and you can visit your friends if they're in Fortitude. I'll give you rights to do everything so you can go anywhere except the other school.

So, do you wanna let me protect you?

[ It's not hard to fool a girl who is way too trusting!!! ] Okay, I'll read the rulebook I guess. Um...

[ She thinks, and then nods, making a thumbs up with one of her bandaged hands. ] Okay. I'll fight for you, and you protect me. ...that's the way it works, right?

[Marisa is totally not used to easily trusting people. First Shion, now this girl. But hey, better success than fail.] Yep! Now you're vowed to me. [She didn't even wait to see if the vow worked, knowing how the system is by now. She walks over and takes a piece of paper, writing that Jade has all rights to everything, signs her name, and hands it to Jade. The writing is... kind of messy, but partially readable.] You got a PDA? It's the easiest way to contact me or other people, ze.

[ She nods, taking the paper and carefully holding onto it. ] Yeah...I got one yesterday. So we can all talk to each other on it?

If you have the upgrade you can, otherwise all you can do is text. But having one is way better than not having one. [Annd she gives Jade her PDA number.] Just gimme a call if you need something. Or text. Whichever. I guess I should ask what kind of weapon you have. [She pauses for a second.] And your name, too. Be kinda hard to contact you if I didn't know your name. Mine's Marisa.

[ Gonna do the trading PDA numbers thing. ] Okay, I will. I'm... [ She thinks about it. Somewhere, in the back of her mind, she knows that she's not a rifle -- that would make sense, but she knows it's wrong. Instead... ] Two big, pointy things. They're white and scary.

[ Jade uses her hands to measure out about a foot and a half in length. What she's trying to get at is that she's two extremely sharp needles, white lightning. ]

Oh, I'm Jade. It's nice to meet you.

[Two big, pointy things. Something like needles maybe? She'd figure it out if she had to battle with her. But Marisa was no good with anything right now. It was more likely she was just going to try to win by vowing with six weapons than winning five battles.]

I'll let ya know if I need you to battle then. But I don't know if I'm gonna battle very often. [Or at all, unless she finds some reason to... not knowing how to handle many weapons was a large liability.] Nice to meet ya too, Jade.

[It was shocking even Marisa at this point that she was being so nice to this girl and not having any plans to coerce her into anything yet. Maybe it was because she was a confused Weapon the first round she was in, herself. Hell, she's still confused somewhat and that's after reading the manual.]

[ Jade doesn't mind not battling often. She nods. ] It's okay. I don't really like fighting, but I'll be there if you need me.

[ It's not fighting as long as you're just standing there, right? ] Do you have any friends here?

[Friends haha what're those. Marisa couldn't even remember her friends, so for all she knew she had none before she came here. And even still. So her answer is quite short.] Nope. Know a few people but I doubt they think I'm their friend.

[ She smiles. ] You can be my friend.

[Well that was certainly new. Nobody actually came up to her and said they'd be her friend. Jade would be the first to offer that.] ... Sure, okay, ze. [Not like it was a bad idea to make at least one friend here. It made her smile a bit, actually.]

[ Jade is a very trusting, friendly person. ] Awesome. We'll be really good friends, and I'll fight for you.
