On the platform: New characters and old ones that want to come and meet them!

As you all crowd onto the platform, all few of you, you are met by three girls and five boys, two of which are bizarre grey-skinned aliens. All eight are in uniforms that would match if not for the colour differences - skirts and trousers, waistcoats, and light summer shirts that seem totally inappropriate for the heavy clouds and cold drizzle. They're all sodden. Each has a beret with a crest pinned to the front - four depicting a shield, the other four a sword.

At the first lull in the chatter, one pale shield-crested girl speaks up, cutting through your conversations coldly.

"Attention please."

She explains that the eight of them are prefects, representing the two schools in Rakuen. Nanami, she points to herself, Yuri, Lelouch and Gamzee of Fortitude; and Santana, Flynn, Feferi and Gino of Conquest.

The girl called Santana interrupts, "Look assholes, I'm tired of doing this every week, just come to me when your name is called." They all move to stand in two groups some distance away from each other, and the two that spoke read off names.

[Dave was about to spam Harley with embarrassing, uncool texts to Jade about how he has no clue what to do and that he's semi glad that he didn't actually do that.

Except Rose is touching his face and now he has other reasons to flip his shit.

He's surprised his shit is still there when Rose suddenly hugs him and he can't help but hug back because he's totally going to indulge in hugs from friends. Fuck everything, hugs are cool.

But he's probably kind of stiff. Probably tense. Because, now it seems that they're going to have a huge problem. Rose was blind. And while she can talk and he could understand, how was he going to talk back? And he feels terrible because he can't even say hi back. He glances in Jade's direction, and while he still had those stupid shades on, he was totally mouthing 'what the fuck do I do holy shit?' at her. And he probably looked pretty desperate at this point.]

[ Jade shrugs, and decides the best solution to this is to hug them both.

Group hugs!

While she's there, she whispers in Dave's ear: ] It's just Rose. Why are you so worried?

[ She hears Jade whispering, but she can't quite make it out. She's going to have to get used to listening more closely, now. Since she created the hugging situation that she's pretty sure is making Dave freak out (his body is pretty stiff), she's the first one to pull away, too. She looks into the darkness towards the area where her friends are. ]

Last time I checked, SBurb was rather devoid of trains. Not to mention that my vision was a little better. [ There. She said it. You could take it to mean her sight or her Sight, but it's pretty obvious which one she means. ] Where exactly are we? Is this a dream? [ She really hopes it is, but now that she thinks about it, not much would surprise her at this point. ]

[If you heard, you'd just have a field day in figuring out what's up with Dave's psychosis this time. No one needs to know that. He went back to typing into his PDA. At least Jade was here to relay anything he needed to say or ask.

He hoped this wouldn't be permanent. It seemed like it would be kind of cumbersome...]

[And Dave was wondering why she was blind. Given the way she said that, it sounded like she had been able to see previously. It probably meant she was from the other John's world. Where he could talk. And John could hear.]

"I can do it, Dave." She pokes him in the cheek carefully, trying to be reassuring. "This isn't a dream. It's, um...this place where we're going to go to school. It's called Rakuen, and we are in schools and we have to fight people in our free time. It's not so bad, though. Better than being dead."

[overthroen]

[ She listens carefully to every word. She can't write this down, so this is the only way she'll be able to remember it all. They've been here longer than she has, evidently. They have a leg up on her in more ways than one. ] That doesn't explain why I can't see. Or why Dave can't talk.

[ Something Jade says pops out at her, and she turns towards her (if not quite facing her). ] And why are you so concerned with death already, Jade?

[So Rose can see normally. Maybe she forgot how to see? Is that even something you can forget?]

[And now he was worried again. Because this wasn't a, Dave just up and decided to forget how to talk. This was a, Dave never could talk. But he knew he was just overthinking. His friends weren't douchebags who'd ditch him because he can't talk.]

"You lose memories when you get here," she repeats dutifully. "Maybe you forgot how to see...? But Dave has never been able to talk, I don't think. And I..."

She frowns, looking at Dave for the answer. Does she tell Rose what happened, back at home? Is it important? It must be -- after all, Rose was there, she thinks at least. She was there in the dreams. But then again so was John, and Vriska said that he had died. Maybe she had died, too.

"I died. I don't exist any more." Her voice shrinks a little bit, but maybe due to her friends' positive influence, she doesn't try to run away from the conversation. "I'm not an alpha Jade."

[overthroen]

[ She lets out a long breath. ] Jade... I'm sorry. [ How many doomed Jades are there? How many of any of them? ] To both of you. I didn't realize. [ She wants to know how Jade died, but she doesn't want to push her further, and she doesn't want to go looking in the blackness to find them to hug again. So she changes to All Business Rose. ]

I'm going to need some kind of walking stick. And, in the long term, a means of communicating with Dave. Are there trees nearby?

Don't ask Dave. They had some messy fight about this before. Dave is more then glad that him and Jade are friends because he spent a little while thinking they weren't.
