After tournament party

Location: Battle Arena
Summary: On Saturday afternoon after the train arrives there is a festival and a presentation of the tournament winners!
Warnings:

Saturday was sunny if a little cold but once again the battle arena was bursting with people. Unlike in the week though everyone was out on the arena field itself, stalls had been set up for games or silly competitions. More tents and stalls sold foods, some which might be familiar to those living in the schools and some that would not be.

At one end there was a stage set up where the six staff members sat, people mingled, ate and discussed the tournament until Dunleavy finally stood to address the crowd.

"I hope that everyone enjoyed the tournament. Today is to celebrate and to reward the winners. Everyone did very well, so please show your appreciation to all those that participated Players and Weapons both."

The townspeople cheered and clapped waving flags of the two schools. "All our winners are from Conquest so congratulations to Conquest for the victory." More cheering; on the stage Day looked smug but proud as well, proud of her students.

Once all the prizes had been given out the stage cleared and a small band entered. Dunleavy wished goodbye to the other staff members before retreating to her mansion. It was unfair to Dolorosa and Recette to expect them to watch her when they should be having fun and it really wasn't a celebration without music.

Third Place

"In third place I would like to welcome to the stage Arthur Pendragon!" The crowd cheered as Dunleavy handed him the trophy. "You will also have noticed you got some extra raks, as coming in third place meant you won the round." She told him with a smile.

He smiles back at her, it isn't a true smile of course, but it's diplomatic and very well practiced, "Thank you," his smile falters a bit, "I wish I could have done more."

"You did very well, the crowd were impressed with your fighting skills." She told him politely, "Especially since it is your first week."

Second Place

"In second place is Duzell, please come to the stage." More clapping and cheering, he had been a crowds favorite by the end, though there was some good natured grumbling from those townspeople who had bet on him winning. She handed him a trophy as well and a pouch containing a memory charm.

First Place

"And now for the winner of our tournament, Stellaluna." The crowd went wild, the novelty of having a tiny bat win the tournament in her first week in Rakuen City had pleased them all, even the ones who had bet on Duzell. Dunleavy put a trophy infront of her and the memory charm. She then brought on a cage, in which was a small; one foot high which was still much larger than Stellaluna herself, version of the Yellow Wyrm.

Pip wasn't totally sure what she was being congratulated for - something to do with the fights? But there sure were a lot of people here! Most of them seemed to be humans, too.

There was someone else up here, though. Pip crawled forward to look at the yellow snakey creature. It didn't look like it would try to eat her, so she moved closer, poking her nose between the twigs of the odd nest. "Hello."

She was so cute, Dunleave knelt down so that she was closer to the bats level. "I don't think it can speak, but I am sure you will take good care of it."

[Both before and after the prize giving; before she retreats for the night Dunleavy is stood by the stage smiling and greeting those that pass her.]

[ Lemina's curious about this woman; she's seen her around the shop, but just who is she? ]

[before things start Dolorosa approaches Lee with her ever present smile]

I see you are coming out more often now, good for you. But I am sure you are not staying after the announcements, considering the festivities.

[Santana is at the booth that's playing music and singing her heart out to the music. It's been so long since she let her voice out like this and it's so liberating]

[Surprised your Prefect is so talented?]

In fact, Adam is standing off to the side and politely clapping in adulation of what he feels is a very passionate and lovely song. Darn shame that he's completely unused to these hip beats.]

Arthur feels like he should be mingling. This started as a formal(ish) occasion and he was comfortable enough throughout it, it was almost like being at home. But it then changed into something more festive and he wasn't confined to to his seat like he would be in Camelot.

So it was time to mingle, he turns to the next person and says, "Hello," please enjoy speaking with the King in full armor (well, minus the helmet).

(Surprise, Arthur, it's Kevin.)

At his greeting, Kevin pauses with a hotdog halfway to his mouth and grins at his former player. "Nice tin-suit."

"Hi." replied this normal-looking person that Arthur clearly hasn't seen before, because what is respect when you've never had a relationship in your life other than friend, superior, or enemy?

Jade wonders why he wore his full armor to a party. But then again, if he was anything like Merlin, he was probably strange to begin with.

"Hi! Congratulations on winning third, that's so cool."

"Haha! 'Sup dude!" And Arthur, of course, gets a hard pat to the back, which may, or may not have felt a bit like a hard smack.

Merlin, giddy with relief that he was not dead and Arthur hadn't completely and utterly turned on him; indeed that Arthur had been prepared to let him win his trust back, was having a lot of fun.

Of course Merlin had been to lots of feasts and festivals in the last four years, but he had always been serving at them. Though that was often fun, and not many could say they had been to such feasts. But it was fun to not be working, to wander the crowds and take in the new things.

For there were many new things. He saw Arthur and made his way to him with two floating globes that wanted to fly away. He knew it wasn't magic but he couldn't get his head around what they were... "Isn't it amazing?" He handed the one with the sword crest to the king, he was trying to act as naturally as possible despite what had happened yesterday.

[Hanging in the back and away from the main festivities, Yuri's enjoying a drink and watching both the ceremony and the after-party with only mildly interested eyes. For a while he contemplates following Dunleavy out of the party but that thought is quickly dismissed with a reminder of what happens to people found trespassing on her lawn.

Still, that's almost more appealing than his current situation. Yuri has never been much of a social events kind of guy and the only reason he's here is because of a stupid beret on his head.

At the very least Conquest won. As much as he hates losing (even though he didn't really lose this round) he's okay with it in these circumstances because that means he doesn't have to worry about his friends in the other school. He didn't miss Day's proud look but he doesn't get caught up on the hows or whys. Whatever her motivations, it doesn't change what she's done.

[ She's always been attentive of the people that hang back - generally, they know things that others don't, or at the very least, have some sort of interesting information to share. So Aly puts on her best welcoming smile and wanders over. ]

Not enjoying the festivities? I'll admit, I don't really know what they're for, being new and all.

Shion was trying some pizza, he had never had it before though he had seen others eating it. It was delicious though, he stood watching the music marveling at both the music and the food, so different than anything he had experienced before.

Jade also had some pizza -- quite a bit for one small girl, but she was hungry. Seeing a familiar face, she wanders over. "Are you enjoying it? Is the pizza good?"

[Ein walked in late and missed the awards ceremony.]

[As a result, he's just going around trying anything that intrigues him. Which is a lot of things.]

[Many of which cost money. Someone stop him before he runs out and has to fight like mad.]
