Location: Battle Arena
Summary: On Saturday afternoon after the train arrives there is a festival and a presentation of the tournament winners!
Warnings:

Saturday was sunny if a little cold but once again the battle arena was bursting with people. Unlike in the week though everyone was out on the arena field itself, stalls had been set up for games or silly competitions. More tents and stalls sold foods, some which might be familiar to those living in the schools and some that would not be.

At one end there was a stage set up where the six staff members sat, people mingled, ate and discussed the tournament until Dunleavy finally stood to address the crowd.

"I hope that everyone enjoyed the tournament. Today is to celebrate and to reward the winners. Everyone did very well, so please show your appreciation to all those that participated Players and Weapons both."

The townspeople cheered and clapped waving flags of the two schools. "All our winners are from Conquest so congratulations to Conquest for the victory." More cheering; on the stage Day looked smug but proud as well, proud of her students.

Once all the prizes had been given out the stage cleared and a small band entered. Dunleavy wished goodbye to the other staff members before retreating to her mansion. It was unfair to Dolorosa and Recette to expect them to watch her when they should be having fun and it really wasn't a celebration without music.

Oh, someone who wants to hear all about Camelot? Well you have come to the right place, Arthur knows everything you need to know about Camelot in extreme~~ly boring~~ detail.

"Camelot is the best kingdom in all of the land," and he holds absolutely no bias, none whatsoever, "The people seem happy and I try my hardest to make sure they remain that way. The Knights are some of the bravest and strongest men I have had the pleasure of working with."

He gets a faraway look on his face, he misses his people and his home.

[Santana lets out a laugh] I wouldn't put you past that. Someone knew that one day you would meet me and I would drive you absolutely crazy.

You are right of course, it is better that I know them and working in the shop has been educational. But you are correct in assuming I will be leaving before the festivities begin. I don't want to ruin the little repuation I have by stabbing someone, or kissing them...

I don't know which would be worse.

"It must be in one of the surface worlds," because surely the Grim Angels need to know about Asgardian cosmology, "I'll be sure to visit if I get the chance."

"...You miss it, don't you?"

"A balloon." Merlin told him, "I have absolutely no idea how it can fly though, the child who sold it to me looked at me like I was an idiot when I asked."

He grinned again though he felt awkward. It was strange acting normal after everything that had happened but he wanted to prove that nothing had changed, or shouldn't change. It was a probably a good job magic didn't seem to work here, no sorcerer could come and convince Arthur once again that magic was harmful.

Great! [He grinned] What do you want to play first?

"You're welcome," she handed him the trophy, "I am glad that you will, hopefully you will be a Player again."

Of course, or you were the one with prior knowledge and perfected your singing skills in order to torture me.

[Whoops. He doesn't have any ideas.]

Um....

"Yes, I want us to be good friends!" She tried to find a way in to the nest, but the twigs were in the way even at the top.

How about this one! [A game where you had to throw boots as far as you could, whoever threw the furthest won a prize] Are you good at throwing things?

[Oh, you have no idea.]

Yeah, that should be fine.

[If this is anything like throwing rocks...]

"I've never been to a big party before," she admitted. "Back home it was just me, so seeing all these people really happy is fun."

Sadly this girl would probably hit back.

"At least you made it past the first round..." she attempts to sound appropriately morose that she was 'beaten' in the first round, though she set it up beforehand. It kind of works. "You can probably win the next one if you train really hard."

Hmm, it's probably that one. We do know how much I love to to torture you.

[ She puts on the look of an embarrassed young girl, a little too forward for her own good. ] I'm sorry. Da oft told me I didn't know when to hold my tongue.

[ But she decides to keep questioning because that's what she does, and what better way to spend a party than to network a bit, right? ]

Surely you played an admirable part, even with the defeat. I'll admit, I don't know what the fuss is between this Conquest and Fortitude. Is it true we're here for school?

[ Aly didn't miss school, but maybe this would be different. ]

[she laughs]

It proves that you are a real person, does it not? One day we will have a festival without music, so you can attend.

"I look forward to excelling in the future."

Arthur misses the comment about the surface worlds, or maybe he just doesn't want to hear it. He's good at ignoring things like that.

"Yes, I do miss it, Camelot is my kingdom and it is left defenseless without me," it's not that he doesn't trust his knights, he does with his life, but there is only so long a kingdom can run without it's king.

He can respect a girl who hits back, the two girls he is close to- were close to- would hit back as well.

"You as well," he says without thinking. He can't really go around telling girls they shouldn't fight and then tell them that with training they could win, "I mean, I am not one to encourage females to fight, but I have faced female knights and you... seem spirited?"

Oh god, he's going to start rambling like Gwen does.

"Balloon," he says as if he's trying out the word, "It is probably some of this world's technology." He shrugs off the thought, he doesn't like thinking about this odd technology much. It's easier that way. (Arthur really should stop just not thinking about things, coming to terms is much easier.)

He claps Merlin on the back, trying to break some of the tension, "C'mon Merlin, we have something to do. How many Raks did you acquire?"

"So you must be really important there, huh... I'm worried about my friends, too."

Well, except the one that is dead. He knows one of them died... but who?

"Why not? Girls are really good at fighting. My best friend is one of the scariest fighters I know, and she only uses knitting needles."

You tread on dangerous ground, Arthur.

"I am sure you will be, let's get you down off the stage so you two can make friends."

Talking to a bat is completely normal... Dunelavy sort of wishes for the time where it wouldn't be... She lifts the cage and holds her arm out for Stellaluna to cling to before carrying them down.

Aye, makes me wonder what you did without me, must have been boring.
