After tournament party

Location: Battle Arena
Summary: On Saturday afternoon after the train arrives there is a festival and a presentation of the tournament winners!
Warnings:

Saturday was sunny if a little cold but once again the battle arena was bursting with people. Unlike in the week though everyone was out on the arena field itself, stalls had been set up for games or silly competitions. More tents and stalls sold foods, some which might be familiar to those living in the schools and some that would not be.

At one end there was a stage set up where the six staff members sat, people mingled, ate and discussed the tournament until Dunleavy finally stood to address the crowd.

"I hope that everyone enjoyed the tournament. Today is to celebrate and to reward the winners. Everyone did very well, so please show your appreciation to all those that participated Players and Weapons both."

The townspeople cheered and clapped waving flags of the two schools. "All our winners are from Conquest so congratulations to Conquest for the victory." More cheering; on the stage Day looked smug but proud as well, proud of her students.

Once all the prizes had been given out the stage cleared and a small band entered. Dunleavy wished goodbye to the other staff members before retreating to her mansion. It was unfair to Dolorosa and Recette to expect them to watch her when they should be having fun and it really wasn't a celebration without music.

He frowns, "Your world ended and you are okay with that?"

Arthur reaches over and shoves Merlin, but says no more about it.

"Of course I've been to the shop, did you think I would be dropped into a new place and not find out where everything is located? It's common sense, no wonder you haven't been to the shop."

You and Dolorosa should switch jobs then.

Although we had staff members all the same, she may be filling the role she thinks she was assigned.

"I have lots of common sense, I just had no reason to go there." Also ow stop shoving him.

He didn't actually know what that meant, but he'd find out.

Perhaps that is it, she does encourage the students even if her methods are a little... unorthodox.

Aw, well I bet you do better next time! [Kotaro concentrates really hard and throws the next boot, it lands about a centimeter past Ein's third.] Yay!

That was a good one!

Hup! [Number five goes sailing a pretty long way, a couple feet past the third.]

Thank you! [He grins and throws his fifth one but it doesn't reach Ein's.]

[It's the accent that puts him a little bit more at ease. Nobles rarely have them so the fact that she just might be a commoner like him is already a plus.]

Flattery. Should I be worried? [He gives her a raised eyebrow. Yes, he noticed the idle compliment and he doesn't much care for it. Might as well nip that in the bud.]

The schools are just something on the side. What they really want is the fighting.

"According to the legend? You did."

Not technically true, but Kevin's never done Fairy Tales 101. He's pure tennis, all day everyday. So his knowledge of Arthur's world can pretty much be summed up to: he's got a round table, has a wizard buddy named Merlin and got a sword from a rock.

You know, the important stuff.

There's also a lady in a lake, don't forget that one. Oh, and the holy grail, that was Arthur, right?

Then again this Arthur hasn't gotten to his round table yet, although he does have a wizard buddy named Merlin. Also no sword yet, that comes around the same time as the round table.

"There are legends about me?"

See, that's the real important stuff. Namely, he's so important there are legends about him.

"Oh yes, there is nothing you could possible ever need at the shop. Why waste your time there?" The sarcasm, it's overwhelming.

"Well come on then, follow me," he heads in the direction of the shop, "And you're sure you want to do this?"

What? I thought it was clever.

"I only knew my best friends and my dog. Grandpa was dead."

She laughed. "We'll have to make pie for John! He hates cake."

"That seems very lonely," he says softly, "it must overwhelming to be in such a populated place."

[Kotaro's fall sometimes behind Ein's and sometimes reaching his furthest. Soon Kotaro only has one boot left.] We should throw the last ones together!
