After tournament party

Location: Battle Arena
Summary: On Saturday afternoon after the train arrives there is a festival and a presentation of the tournament winners!
Warnings:

Saturday was sunny if a little cold but once again the battle arena was bursting with people. Unlike in the week though everyone was out on the arena field itself, stalls had been set up for games or silly competitions. More tents and stalls sold foods, some which might be familiar to those living in the schools and some that would not be.

At one end there was a stage set up where the six staff members sat, people mingled, ate and discussed the tournament until Dunleavy finally stood to address the crowd.

"I hope that everyone enjoyed the tournament. Today is to celebrate and to reward the winners. Everyone did very well, so please show your appreciation to all those that participated Players and Weapons both."

The townspeople cheered and clapped waving flags of the two schools. "All our winners are from Conquest so congratulations to Conquest for the victory." More cheering; on the stage Day looked smug but proud as well, proud of her students.

Once all the prizes had been given out the stage cleared and a small band entered. Dunleavy wished goodbye to the other staff members before retreating to her mansion. It was unfair to Dolorosa and Recette to expect them to watch her when they should be having fun and it really wasn't a celebration without music.

Merlin nodded ignoring the sarcasm, it wasn't like he was used to wandering into shops and buying things unless they were rare herbs and he was on an errand, "I'm sure..." He grinned and followed.

"His dad used to make it a lot for him. I think he just had too much of it!"

"A little. But I've been here for two months, so I'm used to it now." She smiles. "You must be kind of confused, too!"

Truly the best childhoods!

Of course not! Flattery's good for a man, it's what they always said. [ But there won't be any more of it, judging from the look he receives in return. ]

So they've brought us here to be the prized weapons in the fleet? Or is there some sort of greater purpose?

"Oh..." Shion nodded though he didn't really understand that, he still liked pie and cakes despite the fact his mum was a baker. "I've forgotten how to make cherry pie... but I could make him a different type..."

[greenspaces]

"Maybe we could make him orange! ...can you make orange pie?" She thinks about it. "I don't think I've ever had a pie."

[savedbyasong]

"I could try and make orange pie, I'm not sure how good it would taste though, maybe orange flan..."

He looked at her in surprise, "You've never had pie? I will make you a pie! Apple pie is really nice!"

[unflinchable]

He laughs a bit, "If I am to be honest, I am more than a bit confused."

You're just boring, Lee, very boring.

[greenspaces]

"What's flan?" Jade's not sure if she's ever heard of that, either. Her island wasn't particularly good at desserts, though she'd had things like ice cream before.

"There was no one to make it! Our kitchen had a lot of huge objects that I didn't know how to use, so I mostly stayed away from it."

[greenspaces]

"Sorry. If you ask questions, I can explain?"

[unflinchable]

"I don't know anything about your technology."

[greenspaces]

"I could tell you about it. I don't think it's a bad thing, to not know."

[unflinchable]

"If you would like."

"A bit like pie, but with less pastry." He blinked at her sadly, "What's your favorite fruit? I will bake you something!"

Aye dull, I've heard that before.

[Not that she really cares.]

"I like oranges and limes." She smiles, clearly surprised. "But you don't have to."

Then do something interesting!

"I want to, we could bake together if you like!" He smiled, everyone should learn to bake he thought and baking together was fun.

[greenspaces]

"We should do that! I don't really know how to bake, but I'd like to learn."
