After tournament party

Location: Battle Arena
Summary: On Saturday afternoon after the train arrives there is a festival and a presentation of the tournament winners!
Warnings:

Saturday was sunny if a little cold but once again the battle arena was bursting with people. Unlike in the week though everyone was out on the arena field itself, stalls had been set up for games or silly competitions. More tents and stalls sold foods, some which might be familiar to those living in the schools and some that would not be.

At one end there was a stage set up where the six staff members sat, people mingled, ate and discussed the tournament until Dunleavy finally stood to address the crowd.

"I hope that everyone enjoyed the tournament. Today is to celebrate and to reward the winners. Everyone did very well, so please show your appreciation to all those that participated Players and Weapons both."

The townspeople cheered and clapped waving flags of the two schools. "All our winners are from Conquest so congratulations to Conquest for the victory." More cheering; on the stage Day looked smug but proud as well, proud of her students.

Once all the prizes had been given out the stage cleared and a small band entered. Dunleavy wished goodbye to the other staff members before retreating to her mansion. It was unfair to Dolorosa and Recette to expect them to watch her when they should be having fun and it really wasn't a celebration without music.

[before things start Dolorosa approaches Lee with her ever present smile]

I see you are coming out more often now, good for you. But I am sure you are not staying after the announcements, considering the festivities.

[musicalee]

[Dunleavy smiles back] Aye you were right, it has been good getting to know the students and teachers.

[mamarosa]

It is to your benefit to not be the mysterious lady that resides in the mansion. You may become a target. [she looks over in the direction of her tower] Which could end poorly.

[musicalee]

You are right of course, it is better that I know them and working in the shop has been educational. But you are correct in assuming I will be leaving before the festivities begin. I don't want to ruin the little repuation I have by stabbing someone, or kissing them...

I don't know which would be worse.

[mamarosa]

[she laughs]

It proves that you are a real person, does it not? One day we will have a festival without music, so you can attend.

[musicalee]

Aye but it might incite rebellion if the mayor starts murdering people.

[She grins ruefully] Aye that would be fun, but I wouldn't deny anyone music, it would be cruel.

[mamarosa]

[affectionately] Ah, they are bound to rebel one way or another, children always do. Many feel trapped here, it is a miracle they have not caused more trouble.

There can always be a festival without music, it would not be cruel.

[musicalee]

Aye, I think they have been as good as we were, maybe better though they have their trouble makers.

[She smiles softly] Try telling that to Santana.

[mamarosa]

[she frowns]

Santana over extends her power.

[musicalee]

[She frowns back] Surely she is mostly harmless, she hadn't killed anyone. [Yet... but that's more than can be said for Fortitude's head prefect...]

[mamarosa]

She knows how to influence the others though, even if she has not killed them personally.

[musicalee]

True, she can be... manipulative at times... [Trying to be polite]

[mamarosa]

Although we had staff members all the same, she may be filling the role she thinks she was assigned.

[musicalee]

Perhaps that is it, she does encourage the students even if her methods are a little... unorthodox.
