After tournament party
Characters: Everyone!Saturday was sunny if a little cold but once again the battle arena was bursting with people. Unlike in the week though everyone was out on the arena field itself, stalls had been set up for games or silly competitions. More tents and stalls sold foods, some which might be familiar to those living in the schools and some that would not be.
Format: Whatever your heart desires!
This log is: Open party log!
Location: Battle Arena
Summary: On Saturday afternoon after the train arrives there is a festival and a presentation of the tournament winners!
Warnings:
At one end there was a stage set up where the six staff members sat, people mingled, ate and discussed the tournament until Dunleavy finally stood to address the crowd.
"I hope that everyone enjoyed the tournament. Today is to celebrate and to reward the winners. Everyone did very well, so please show your appreciation to all those that participated Players and Weapons both."
The townspeople cheered and clapped waving flags of the two schools. "All our winners are from Conquest so congratulations to Conquest for the victory." More cheering; on the stage Day looked smug but proud as well, proud of her students.
~
Once all the prizes had been given out the stage cleared and a small band entered. Dunleavy wished goodbye to the other staff members before retreating to her mansion. It was unfair to Dolorosa and Recette to expect them to watch her when they should be having fun and it really wasn't a celebration without music.

So it was time to mingle, he turns to the next person and says, "Hello," please enjoy speaking with the King in full armor (well, minus the helmet).

At his greeting, Kevin pauses with a hotdog halfway to his mouth and grins at his former player. "Nice tin-suit."
no subject
Arthur's smile immediately turns into a frown, "It is not a tin-suit it is armor and some of the finest armor that Camelot has to offer," yes Kevin, you offended both the king's pride in himself and Camelot, good job.
"It is much more suitable than the," he pauses, trying to pick the best word, "things you are wearing." Smooth Arthur, very smooth.
He clamps his mouth shut after that though, he figures that he should have proceeded in a more kingly manner than that (that of a petulant child) but he couldn't help it. He was just so annoyed.

"You mean clothes?" Kevin remarks as he glances down at his jeans, sneakers, t-shirt and zip-up hoodie. It's not a tux and it wouldn't cost him more than 20 bucks to copy at a local Wal-Mart, but it's functional and, even better? Light.
As he finally takes another bite of his hot dog, Kevin gives Arthur's armor another look over as he chews thoughtfully. Once he swallows, he finally decides to ask about something the other guy said.
"So that's stuff from your home? You're from Camelot?" He's got a note of disbelief in his voice.
no subject
Arthur sneers at him, he would hardly call what Kevin was wearing clothes. Yes, they were in the shape of basic clothing but there are peasants who dress better than the people on this island. Please add fashion to the list of things that Arthur doesn't understand about the future. Or Rakuen.
He also frowns at the hotdog, what weird looking food. Arthur hates this place, it's way too different from home and nothing makes sense.
"Yes, this is my armor from home and as this is a festival to celebrate the tournament I found it suiting." If not he would only be wearing the tunic he has on under the armor. He nods, "Camelot is my home and kingdom, yes."

Still, just because he understands what the guy is going through doesn't mean he knows how to be mature about it. (Kid's only twelve after all.) So when Arthur sneers at him, it gets his hackles up. Enough for him to be a little bit nasty.
"So that makes you the head honcho. Got a question for you: didn't you have a better place to stick a sword besides a rock?"
no subject
That's a few episodes away."Being the king does, in fact, make me the head. But who in their right mind would put a sword in a rock?"
Merlin, that's who.

welp time to decide the outcome in the plotting post

"Hi! Congratulations on winning third, that's so cool."
no subject
"I should have done better," he answers automatically.

"At least you made it past the first round..." she attempts to sound appropriately morose that she was 'beaten' in the first round, though she set it up beforehand. It kind of works. "You can probably win the next one if you train really hard."
no subject
"You as well," he says without thinking. He can't really go around telling girls they shouldn't fight and then tell them that with training they could win, "I mean, I am not one to encourage females to fight, but I have faced female knights and you... seem spirited?"
Oh god, he's going to start rambling like Gwen does.

You tread on dangerous ground, Arthur.

Of course Merlin had been to lots of feasts and festivals in the last four years, but he had always been serving at them. Though that was often fun, and not many could say they had been to such feasts. But it was fun to not be working, to wander the crowds and take in the new things.
For there were many new things. He saw Arthur and made his way to him with two floating globes that wanted to fly away. He knew it wasn't magic but he couldn't get his head around what they were... "Isn't it amazing?" He handed the one with the sword crest to the king, he was trying to act as naturally as possible despite what had happened yesterday.
no subject
He tries not to stiffen as Merlin comes near, Merlin who has magic and is trying to act like nothing had happened between them. Arthur could do that too, hide away any feelings of hurt and betrayal, he'd been doing it for years.
Arthur eyes the floating orb with the sword decal warily before taking it, "What is it?" he asks, bringing it down and poking at it, trying to figure out its purpose.
no subject
He grinned again though he felt awkward. It was strange acting normal after everything that had happened but he wanted to prove that nothing had changed, or shouldn't change. It was a probably a good job magic didn't seem to work here, no sorcerer could come and convince Arthur once again that magic was harmful.
no subject
He claps Merlin on the back, trying to break some of the tension, "C'mon Merlin, we have something to do. How many Raks did you acquire?"
no subject
Of course he was trying not to think about magic, or the fact Arthur knew he had it or the fact that he didn't have it at the moment and the hole it left inside him was huge.
"About thirty altogether, what do we need to do?"
