Summary: Dirk shows off some 21st century cinematic masterpieces.

The time has come. Seven o'clock on the dot and Dirk is standing at the front of the viewing room in the city library to one side of the screen which is currently tuned to static, remote control in one of his hands.

There's plenty of room for everyone who shows up. The accommodations are a bit more classroom-like than he'd have liked -- tables and chairs for everyone to sit at -- but scattered about are some snacks and drinks he's scavenged from the Fortitude cafeteria.

Sit down. Watch these films. There are ten of them, and Dirk can go all night.

I saw you talking to Jake so I know you're from at least 2009. Some of these were out by then so it's not the future you should be hating.

How many are there? And I'm sure this movie has not come out. I would have heard about something this crappy. And it is utter crap.

Ten or so. And of course they haven't come out for you. You're staff, you should know plenty about alternate universes.

I guess we could have the same actors and different movies.

If you know that they're so horrible why are we watching them?

They had a hand in shaping the world into the way it is today.

Not much of one, mind you, because nobody picked up on the subliminal messages or the heavily-filtered metaphors until it was too late. But still, a hand.

And my Bro made them. That's why we're watching them.

I don't want to live in any world shaped by these movies. [she reaches over to take more popcorn, eyes still never leaving the screen. It's like watching a train wreck through horrible filters]

[ At about this point, it cuts to a minute-long clip from Night Court with the colors inverted. ]

They're an unsurmountable foe. The symbol of a society caught in a downward spiral down the drain of the toilet that was Her Imperious Condescension's reign of terror.

Of course it is. [a pause while she chews on some more popcorn] So your world went to shit, huh?

Yep. Alien invasion plus an apocalypse. [ At least the popcorn is good. Om nom. ] These movies are from the pre-diluvian era.
