Location: Rakuen Public Library's media viewing room
Summary: Dirk shows off some 21st century cinematic masterpieces.
Warnings: Horrible movies. Swearing from Striders. The usual.

The time has come. Seven o'clock on the dot and Dirk is standing at the front of the viewing room in the city library to one side of the screen which is currently tuned to static, remote control in one of his hands.

There's plenty of room for everyone who shows up. The accommodations are a bit more classroom-like than he'd have liked -- tables and chairs for everyone to sit at -- but scattered about are some snacks and drinks he's scavenged from the Fortitude cafeteria.

Sit down. Watch these films. There are ten of them, and Dirk can go all night.

"On Prospit," Dirk replies, gesturing to the pendant around his neck. "Been keeping up with the message boards?"

He boots the disc up to the menu, which is... not a menu at all but just static. Horrible, eye-paining static.

"Ah," he remembers the post and finding it really strange, but sort of cool. If only he had the raks to dump into getting a pendant.

He was going to avoid looking at the not-menu for now, considering how terrible the movies looked.

"T-two questions; What's it l-like dreaming on the moon, an' how are there enough p-people on one planet that c-can appreciate irony enough to make this p-popular?" Really. How?

"It's okay. You're basically awake while you're asleep. I highly recommend it if you've got the cash to spare."

He just leaves it there on the menu for now. "Beats me. This is some high-level shit. At the time these films came out I doubt there was anyone who could actually appreciate them. But they still made their creator a very rich man."

He nods about the pendant. He'd definitely get one as soon as he could afford it.

As for the movie, "H-how'd it--" He was going to ask how it managed to do that, but then he remembered what was in movie theaters. "Right, right market an' any movie'll sell." He laughs a bit, "Some day I'll have ta show you K-Killer Clowns from Outer Space."

"Precisely. Well, that along with some of the side ventures he had going on. Made a bunch of shit that was so awful it cost him negative money. Not that the money's what mattered."

Dirk raises an eyebrow. "Eh. Sounds just bad enough to be worth giving a shot."

"N-negative money?" Really? Wow.

"And the alien clowns have c-cotton c-candy guns. They t-trap you in cotton c-candy." Need more be said? "Troll 2's another one."
