You're falling, and you can't remember why. It's a sickening feeling that makes your insides lurch; the darkness and the vertigo combine, and all you can think of is a story you heard once, somewhere.

Ah, I remember now. It's... a simple story that everyone knows. A legend of a Princess, the Demon Lord who kidnapped her, and the Knight who fought to save her. The Demon Lord had kidnapped the Princess countless times, but every time the Knight bested his challenges and rescued the Princess. No matter what tricks and ploys the Demon Lord used, the Knight would always triumph in the end. This was because--

The world tilts on its axis one last time, and the dream slips from your mind as easily as it arrived. A new voice intrudes on your sleep. Mechanical, monotonous.

"Next stop: Rakuen City. This train terminates here. The next stop is Rakuen. All change." The train rocks steadily as it winds its way through white drifts of snow. Sunlight streams through the window, heating the air and making the seats almost uncomfortably warm. A puff of steam from the train winds its way lazily past the windows when the wind is right.

It's strangely difficult to shake off the sleep; the rhythm of the train seems to lull you back into slumber and the air is warm and heavy, making it hard to keep hold of a thought. Finally, though, the nausea settles, the last of the dream fades and you can take in your surroundings. And, perhaps more importantly, those around you in a similar state.

"We have arrived at Rakuen City. All passengers must leave the train. This train is terminating here. This is Rakuen."

[ But she doesn't want to get off of the train.

People passing by may see Jade staring out the window, refusing to leave her seat. This dream is too nice, and she's not quite sure if she wants to accept the alternative right now. ]

It's just a dream...

[allurprincess]

It is? [ Sora is bumbling around in a confused daze, and flops down in the seat opposite Jade for a moment. ] Aah, that would make sense.

[greenspaces]

It has to be. I was in a desert, not a train.

[ But even that's confusing now. She remembers getting on the train, and something...that story...Jade shakes her head. ]

I don't remember.

[allurprincess]

I was about to start dress rehearsals... I think. I hope this is a dream, or I'm gonna be really late.

[greenspaces]

Were you in a play?

[ that sounds fun. very dream-like. ]

[allurprincess]

A live show, actually. I don't audition for plays much... I fall asleep reading the script.

[greenspaces]

I would too. I love sleeping.

[allurprincess]

Isn't it great?

[ oh wait. ] Even if this is a dream, it's nice to meet you! I'm Sora.

[greenspaces]

It's nice to meet you too, I'm Jade. [ She giggles, softly. ] It's a good dream. I didn't like home.

[allurprincess]

You don't? [ tell sora all about it she's the best therapist? ]

[greenspaces]

I was the only person alive, at home.

[allurprincess]

I... [ wait. ] How would that happen...?

[greenspaces]

The world ended. Meteors.

[ She doesn't really want to say that the meteors were her fault, so she stays silent. ]

[babysage]

Is it? [At the end of the seat a blonde haired kid pops his head up from where he is sat on the floor to grin at her] Do you think so? [He grins, showing two small fangs]

[greenspaces]

[ oh my gosh he's adorable. Jade smiles despite herself; the fangs, she seems not to notice. ]

Mhm. Maybe. I bet we can figure it out eventually.

[babysage]

I bet we will! [He grins again] Have you seen my brother! He is reaaaaally tall [He stretches his hand up as far as it will go to show just how tall] And wears a red pointy hat and his clothes are red too. He is probably hiding from the sun!

[greenspaces]

[ She shakes her head. ] I don't think so. But I was asleep for a really long time, so he might have left before I woke up...

[ oh she should ask about her friends ] My best friends are missing. Dave, and John, and Rose. They... [ their faces are blurry in her mind; she can't remember ] I don't. Remember what they look like. But Dave types in red, and Rose in purple, and John in blue.

[babysage]

I was asleep too but I don't think he would've left me! [He shakes his head] I haven't seen many people yet. But I will look for you! What do you mean they type? On a computer?

[Dave, Rose and John, he would try and remember] My brother is called....

Erm.... [What was his brothers name? Kotaro screwed up his face thinking hard]

Well some people call him the Silver Blade, and others call him Kin Killer.

[greenspaces]

Yes, they all have pesterchum names and we talk to each other...

[ She nods. ] I'll ask people, okay? I would hate to lose my brother.

[babysage]

What's a pesterchum name? [He nodded at her, glad she knew how he felt. Losing your brother was scary, Kotaro was starting to feel really bad for the time he went to look for Mimiko, no wonder his brother had been so worried!]

I'll ask about your friends to! Do you have a brother as well?

[greenspaces]

It's a name that lets you talk to other people online.

I don't think so. I'm an only child.

[babysage]

Oh [He has no idea what online means but nods anyways, her other words concern him more] There was only you? Were you not really lonely?

[greenspaces]

A little. But I had my dog, and he took care of me.

[babysage]

You had a dog? [Kotarou grins again] When I lived with the princess I was friends with Grand Duke Bowwow he was a... [Wait what exactly was he? Kotarou frowned, he was being very forgetful today!]

Well he was an animal and a great friend, what was your dog called?

[greenspaces]

My dog's name was Bec, he was my best friend ever.
