[The star had took them by surprise but not so much as the creature that appeared from within it. As it descended to ground, which had started rumbling Suzaku was ready to defend everyone as best he could. Dave and Gino could both fight and were Players and armed as well. Lelouch was letting the rest of the city know. Help would come soon hopefully and they could stop this thing before it left the arena.]

[ And Dirk is there pretty much instantly. KETSU WHY DO YOU HAVE TWO PLAYERS...

He's pulling his glove on and glancing about for discards. ]

[ Rose feels the vibrations - of course she does, the thing is fucking huge - and sprints for the battle arena. She makes the vow transfer to Dirk almost as soon as she sees him. ]

Any ideas? How big is that thing?

Pretty big. [ With that extremely vague transfer from Prussia complete, he reaches out and draws Rose's weapon...s. Well, that's pretty all right, in an ironic sort of way. ] You're going to want to stay back.

[She is going to want to stay back, the wyrm thumps its tail causing the ground to shake, and launches itself in their direction.]

[ Welp, shit. Positioning himself in front of Rose, Dirk holds the needles as though they were daggers. As soon as the wyrm heads for them, he leaps, bringing them up to strike. They won't slice like blades will, but they should still work for stabbing. ]

[They hit and seem to annoy the wyrm more than anything, it roars and slams its tail into the ground, sending shock-waves Dirk's way.]

[ Again: Welp, shit. He sure hopes Rose has gotten herself to safety, because he can't be bothered to pay attention to her right now. He jumps the shockwave -- thank fuck for spending his life sparring with killer death robots of his own design, reflexes like these are so useful right now -- and jumps at the wyrm again.

Anything will go down if you stab it enough. ]

[ Rose stumbles backwards due to the shockwaves and ends up almost tripping over the thing's tail, which is just lying in the middle of the battlefield. Oh, wait. Maybe she can be helpful. She throws herself on top of the tail, trying to hold it down. ]

Dirk, quick! [ Yeah, this is definitely a good idea. ]

[ Oh fuck why is the blind girl not getting out of the way

There's no time to lecture her. He'd be an idiot not to take advantage of her help. Assuming that's actually going to help, and that it won't just fling her off like an insect. He takes this opportunity to attack it head on, not holding back. He goes straight for the eyes. ]

[The blow struck and the wyrm roared, it flung it's tail wildly from side to side attempting to throw off Rose and it's head came towards Dirk, snapping at him.]

Fuck-- Get out of here, Rose!

[ He's too distracted worrying about her for the moment; when the wyrm moves its head, it yanks one of the needles from his hand and just barely misses biting into him, leaving a long gash in his arm. He grits his teeth to keep from crying out, withdraws the remaining needle, and jabs at the beast's neck. ]

[ Any other time, Rose would have been able to youth roll to safety after being flung from the beast's tail. But as it was, she had no way to judge where the ground was. She sailed a few yards and landed hard, all the wind knocked out of her. She lies there for a few moments and then stumbles to her feet, able to tell where Dirk is from his yell. ]

[ She turns herself in the beast's direction and waits for a more opportune time to get involved, feeling little twinges of pain as the Scratches stab and tear. ]

[The tail came down again, thumping the ground to make it shake. The wyrm shook his head, trying to dislodge the needle that had stuck there.]
