Round 2

It could be a repeat of last week, Dolorosa stand on the podium looking out over the students of Fortitude, "Welcome students, I hope you have had a good week. I enjoyed watching you battle, even if we have lost the first round. Don't look down, there are many rounds to come."

If you were here last round you may notice that Nanami, Fortitude's prefect, is missing, "Before I go on and announce the winners of last round and the new Players for this round, I would like to inform you that breaking the rules is not allowed and will not be tolerated. Nanami has been punished for behavior unbecoming of a prefect, if I will punish her I will punish you as well.

"It is worth knowing that the rules are on page nine of the player handbook which you all have been given. Any one who cannot read may request a copy be sent to their PDA, an advanced PDA will read the rules to you. Please do not break the rules and give me an excuse to punish you" The peaceful smile on her face may be a bit disconcerting.

"Since we have covered that, we can now move on. While we did not win the round I would still like to congratulate you on a wonderful round. Conquest not only won more battles than us but one of their players hit the win condition. If you turn your attention to the screen behind me it will show the battles found by Fortitude."

On the screen behind her the Battle records for Fortitude and the Inter-school battles that they had fought were shown. She read the Fortitude battle records first.

She smiles kindly at the crowd, "I'm proud of you, there were very few Fortitude only battles, only one in fact, Dave vs Kotaru, congratulations Dave for winning.

"Also in fighting Conquest you all fought valiantly and I am proud of all of you. Extra notice goes to Dave for beating Feferi, Spain for defeated Golbez, Vriska for defeating Feferi, and Lelouch for defeating Homura," she claps politely and expects the others to clap as well.

"While no one in Fortitude won this round I would like to extend our congratulations to Conquest for winning and particularly Lithuania for winning the round. We should be gracious losers and fight harder next round. There is nothing to be ashamed of."

The battle records disappear. "Next I welcome our new students who joined us yesterday, you have been placed into a very kind school, so please enjoy your stay. Now I have here the list of those chosen to be Players this round, for those who have just joined us this means these students and faculty are the only persons with rights this week. The rest of you have no rights, you may be granted rights by being owned by a Player." Her smile doesn't waver, "I'm sure all of you will grant your Weapon's rights.

"To own a weapon you must vow to them, you know the vow has worked when they receive a shield mark on their hand," she held her own hand up to show to new ones what it looked like. "Players may give their Weapons permission to access the school facilities, and to eat from the full cafeteria menu among other things. If you haven't got a Player then you are a Discard, make sure you know all the rules and do exactly what Nanami tells you to, as after today she will not be punished. There is no school today but I suggest you use the time to vow to Weapons if you are a Player or find a Player if you are a Weapon. School is Monday to Friday starting 8am, I look forward to seeing you in my classroom."

Frankly, Vriska was disappointed when she doesn't hear her name called again. Though it did feel great to have the recognition that she took Feferi down, it flickered a little to hear Dave had beaten her too. Well, whatever. This wasn't the time to will about it. She needed a Player, because she absolutely would not be useless in a round. Her only problem was that she really hadn't bothered getting to know anyone in the past week.

Her eyes combed over the room before landing on a familiar face. Ugh, she doesn't want to deal with Terezi's human but if she's being honest with herself, he's a good bet for winning matches. And that's all she cares about. She stands and makes her way over to him.

"Hey, Strider. Vow with me."

Oh damn. It's the spider bitch again. Okay, honestly he has no big problems with Vriska. She was smarter then most of the other trolls she's met, and she seemed to have some fight in her at the very least. Which means she'd probably be willing to fight with him.

What the fuck is she anyways? Hell if he knows. But hey, he'll say yes. Why not. She can be sassy and he can promptly ignore all her sass.

Some fight was an understatement. She smirked, cocking her head to the side as she glanced over the text. There was something alluring about stepping in on Terezi's human, and she suspected it would be much of the driving force behind dealing with him. Because really, Dave was just a pain in the ass as far as she was concerned. But if Terezi ever showed up, she really wanted something to lord over her. Because she really wanted to sucker punch her where it hurts, even if she can't remember why.

Still, it really didn't sit well with her being someone else's property. She could handle it though, with all the disgust of a highblood serving a lowblood, anyway. She shifted her weight slightly, wings fluttering as she did so.

"Embarrassed is a good look for you anyway. So are you going to check out my weapon or what? It's actually pretty stupid of you to vow without knowing what I am."

Fuck your sass, Serket. He already thinks this is a dumb idea. He doesn't care about all this bullshit. If she wanted to fight, then she had to have a good enough weapon to be a willing participant. He just thought he'd be nice and let her have her rights since it's a douche move to deny it.

He huffed a bit, digging out his exaclan glove from his pocket and pulling it on. Fine. He'll check it out. If she's something he'd actually like to use, this will be easier.

"Have you been taking snark lessons from Lalonde? I guess I have to be the one to break the news to you that you're bad at it."

She rolled her eyes. This was going to be a long week. She didn't even care that much about the rights, it was all human food anyway and it tasted weird so she just ate anything and got it over with. She really needed some upgrades though, so she should probably pretend she actually gave a shit so she could talk him into it.

She waited for him to pull her weapon out, because honestly she didn't know what she was either. She expected she would be her dice, at which point she'd have to teach him how to use them anyway. Someone needed to give her credit for thinking ahead for once.

He does the fuck off motion in ASL. Most people didn't know ASL, and he really doubted she did too. She probably could guess what it meant, but hey, power to him for knowing it.

He wasn't sure what he was expecting when he pulled her weapon out from her chest.

Sword...Sword was not something he was expecting. So...now he has this sword he didn't expect to pull out in his hand. This. He can use this in fights. And well even.

Vriska had no idea what the hell that was, but she could grill him on it later. Right now she was too busy staring down at the blade. That was unexpected, seeing her Ancestral Awakening sword. Also it felt incredibly weird to have some pulled out of her chest, she thought. And somehow it felt familiar but she couldn't remember why. Another memory just out of her reach.

"Great, I don't have to try wrapping your head around the intricies of dicekind. And you're almost guaranteed not to suck too badly with this."

ASL bitch. God he loves being able to sign and no one understand him sometimes. It's just so much fun when people give you a dirty look like you did something terrible and it's probably you saying something like 'do you have a banana?' ...worst example. Anyways.

He let's the holographic sword phase away. Not that he needs to go around swinging it like a crazy fuck.

"Woooooooow, I'm not at all surprised you don't have the mental capacity to understand Dicekind. But it's to be expected. Human thinkpans are just too small to handle anything more than swinging a weapon around."

Vriska snorted, rolling her eyes again. This seemed like a common response to this kid. It wasn't like Dicekind was actually hard, especially when you could rig the rolls to what you wanted. Being the Thief of Light had some excellent perks. But hell if she was going to sell her strife specibus short to Dave of all people. It was pretty much the best there was, anyway.

"All this bold talk, you better be able to back it up. I'd hate to see what happens to you if you lose me in a fight."

Oh my god. Is he allowed to punch his Weapons in the face? It's sorely tempting, but he isn't going to bother. If anything, he was being more nonchalant then he already was. He was only relatively annoyed because Sis taught him well, and he wasn't going to do with making it sound like she didn't.

He couldn't flashstep like her, but he wasn't exactly a novice. He's spent a good time in the session and honestly, the fact that he was in charge of time made her thinkpan comment stupid. Stable timeloops were a bitch and he was sure not everyone would get it like he did.

Vriska would be one smug motherfucker if she knew she was annoying him. It was just too fun not to bait people really. After all, she was only following her troll calling. Can't fault a girl for that. And, really, even if she didn't know she was getting under his skin, she was still feeling pretty full of herself.

"You should really look into upgrades before you run off looking for a fight. Do you really not have common sense??"

Buy your own upgrades god damn it. He's not here to waste money on you. Bluh. Whatever. He would eventually have to buy himself some upgrades. It would be dumb otherwise to just frolic without them. He didn't know who had upgrades and who didn't have any. He also did have the Raks to do it...

She read the messages, eyes narrowing and sighing a little more dramatically than the situation called for. This was stupid. Was she really having to convince him that upgrade were a good thing??

"You have access to my Raks, nookstain. And the general idea is to win this time. Upgrades help. Use my money or yours, I don't really care. So do the smart thing and upgrade instead of getting your ass handed to you. As hilarious as that would be to watch, I'm the one at stake here."

Bluh. He sometimes forgets that Weapons can't use their own raks. That's so fucking stupid. Whoever made that rule specifically needs to get punched in the mouth. Seriously.

She was really trying to curb the attitude here, but it was hard. Just get through this week and hopefully she'd be a Player next round and she wouldn't have to suck up to some insufferable prick.

Maybe he'll accidentally shove Vriska's Weapon form in a fridge anyways. But then he'd get in trouble if someone got hurt by it. He can't win.

Her grin widened a notch. That was easier than she expected, but she was fine with that. As long as she got what she wanted, she didn't matter how she had to go about it.

"Great! So let's quit standing around wasting time."

Hypothetically speaking, if her swordform ended up in a fridge, Dave would most likely end up 'accidentally' shoved out a second story window.

At least she doesn't discriminate. That's something...right?

You've mistaken Dave for someone who cares about this shit. He eventually wants to buy the memory charms for Jade or something, but otherwise, he's pretty fucking chill.

The saddest part is how that isn't the worst to happen to him...

"Sure. Start walking, Strider."

Vriska rolled her shoulders, glancing around the room as she started walking. She chews on her lip for a second before opening her mouth to speak again.

"Egbert's here."

Dave shoves his hands in his pockets and starts walking. He gives Vriska a rather blank stare at the mention of Egbert. You forget, Vriska. Forgetting names mean he doesn't get to keep the knowledge and having a note does jack shit if you don't remember the importance of it.

He tilts his head quizzically.

Ughhhhhhhh. She sighed loudly, rolling her eyes at him. This was getting old fast and it was only the second time.

"John Egbert, your best friend. Didn't you put it in you PDA so you wouldn't forget again??"

...He did. But when he looked at it, it made no sense to him. He kept the note, but it also wasn't important in his mind.

Vriska's gaze flicked to the screen, and she almost wanted to drag a hand down her face at the fact that it's actually becoming a habit that she's getting used to.

"Tell me about it. Well, anyway, he's here. I found him at the train station."

Hey Vriska? Want to band together with Dave to cock stomp whoever thought the memory loss part was a good idea? Because this might be a thing that Dave wants to actually attempt on his free time.

He nods a little. Then points to the crest to try and indicate what school John was. Obviously, if John was Fortitude, Dave was vowing with him.

Vriska wouldn't be adverse to this plan. In fact, she'd enjoy it a little too much. She's tired of the glaring gaps in her memories that she can't seem to fill no matter how much she pieces memories around it together.

"He's in Fortitude."
