Movovie Night
Characters: EveryoneThe time has come. Seven o'clock on the dot and Dirk is standing at the front of the viewing room in the city library to one side of the screen which is currently tuned to static, remote control in one of his hands.
Format: Whichever you prefer
This log is: open
Location: Rakuen Public Library's media viewing room
Summary: Dirk shows off some 21st century cinematic masterpieces.
Warnings: Horrible movies. Swearing from Striders. The usual.
There's plenty of room for everyone who shows up. The accommodations are a bit more classroom-like than he'd have liked -- tables and chairs for everyone to sit at -- but scattered about are some snacks and drinks he's scavenged from the Fortitude cafeteria.
Sit down. Watch these films. There are ten of them, and Dirk can go all night.
BEFORE SEVEN
At about 6:45, he can be found sitting in a corner, asleep. Have to go find Jade and let her know it's time.

"Hi Dirk! Are you here to have fun with me? Do you want to meet my new friends?"

Prospit is surprisingly similar in architectural design to Derse, but everything is so bright it would have blinded him if he weren't wearing his shades.
Dirk spends a few minutes figuring out the general lay of the land. He instinctively wants to keep to back alleys, and whenever a Prospitian spots him it's all he can do not to start wandering aimlessly, pretending to be sleepwalking. Old habits die hard.
He does find Jade before long, though, and waves when she sees him.
"No time for that, Harley. It's almost seven."
no subject
"Your movies, right? We're watching them?"
She excuses herself from the gaggle of friends, hugging them each and wishing them well before slipping away to meet Dirk. Jade takes his hand and starts walking. "Do you like it here? Isn't it nice?"
no subject
"It's definitely something. It's gonna take a while to get used to. I kind of miss the horrorterrors," he says sardonically.

He looks up. So bright... So unlike what he's used to when he sleeps.
"It's nice, yeah."

As he says so, he briefly flickers out of existence to check on things back in the viewing room. It isn't long before he reappears, though.

"I'll be there in a minute, okay? I don't actually know how to wake up once I'm asleep..." She guesses she can go back to the tower she came from and lay down, fall asleep again. That would work.

Dirk blinks, lifting up his shades to look around and get his bearings. Ah. Right. Well, the message has been delivered. Jade should be here soon. "Hey, Furest."
WHAT IS SLEEPING?
SOMETHING YOU SHOULD DO
"Good plan. Sorry about that, I was finding someone to let her know it's about to begin." He gets to his feet and heads over to the DVD player to put the first movie in. Well, not the "first" one chronologically but the first one on top of the stack, which is SBAHJ the Moive. It really doesn't matter what order they watch them in.
Yeah, probably... last tag for the night~ Aren't you special? <3
He follows Dirk over to the DVD player and picks up the next one from the stack, muttering, "lieber Gott," to himself over just how bad the movie looked.
[OOC: translation is basically "dear God".]

He boots the disc up to the menu, which is... not a menu at all but just static. Horrible, eye-paining static.
no subject
He was going to avoid looking at the not-menu for now, considering how terrible the movies looked.
"T-two questions; What's it l-like dreaming on the moon, an' how are there enough p-people on one planet that c-can appreciate irony enough to make this p-popular?" Really. How?
no subject
He just leaves it there on the menu for now. "Beats me. This is some high-level shit. At the time these films came out I doubt there was anyone who could actually appreciate them. But they still made their creator a very rich man."
no subject
As for the movie, "H-how'd it--" He was going to ask how it managed to do that, but then he remembered what was in movie theaters. "Right, right market an' any movie'll sell." He laughs a bit, "Some day I'll have ta show you K-Killer Clowns from Outer Space."
no subject
Dirk raises an eyebrow. "Eh. Sounds just bad enough to be worth giving a shot."
no subject
"And the alien clowns have c-cotton c-candy guns. They t-trap you in cotton c-candy." Need more be said? "Troll 2's another one."
