Movovie Night
Characters: EveryoneThe time has come. Seven o'clock on the dot and Dirk is standing at the front of the viewing room in the city library to one side of the screen which is currently tuned to static, remote control in one of his hands.
Format: Whichever you prefer
This log is: open
Location: Rakuen Public Library's media viewing room
Summary: Dirk shows off some 21st century cinematic masterpieces.
Warnings: Horrible movies. Swearing from Striders. The usual.
There's plenty of room for everyone who shows up. The accommodations are a bit more classroom-like than he'd have liked -- tables and chairs for everyone to sit at -- but scattered about are some snacks and drinks he's scavenged from the Fortitude cafeteria.
Sit down. Watch these films. There are ten of them, and Dirk can go all night.

Seeing his comics turned into actual movies. Apparently movies that were incredibly influential and amazing (really, they're pretty much shit) was pretty mind boggling.
He had no idea how to react to this. Mostly, he didn't know how to react to it without looking like a completely uncool spaz. Or absconding. Shit. If he just sits here like a fucking rock, maybe that would work. That's a fucking dumb idea and he should feel ashamed for considering it. He should be trying to be all smug because hey, he's some super cool movie producer. Naw.

Still, every so often he chanced a glance over at Dave to see how he was taking this. Completely motionless and cool? Prior to getting to know the kid, Dirk would have expected that from the younger version of his ancestor. Now, though, it strikes him as odd.

Dave's shit is totally lost. He's pretty proud he didn't somehow flip out even if his mind is basically having it's own little war right now. He wants to comment on it, but that's like trying to comment on something you made. Except it's on the screen and not an webcomic.

Once the "moive" is finished, there's a bathroom/eye-cleansing break. Dirk heads over to where Dave's sitting.
"So?"
no subject
Okay, that's a lie. He totally know the other was gonna approach him.
can i get back to you on that?
no subject
"Not sure what to think? No biggie. Most people react that way." If the reviews he read online were any indication, anyway. "I'm mainly just wondering how close they are to your webcomic."
no subject
i mean
no its pretty spot on like
...
i have no idea how to feel about this
just gonna put my cards on the table
this shit is whack
my mind is blown
it basically took a vacation and ollied outtie faster than a jack rabbit on a hot summer texan day
piece of shit
left me to try and deal with this
what else can i say
oh
all these feelings
i cant hold them
its like the niagara falls decided to throw itself at me
except its all overflowing feelings and whatever
Dave is basically flipping his shit in the best way possible. Poker face and all, but that was a lot of text to explain absolutely jack shit.

"I wonder how Bro would take hearing that he stunned his younger self into incoherent babbling."
no subject
that isnt even funny
Shut up. How else is he supposed to feel about this? It's a lot to take in!

no subject
...Uh. What do you even say?

tbh

its really cool
i mean to see this on the big screen
but at the same time its really weird
if i could talk
well shit i wouldnt be able to talk right now is what im getting at
no subject
Spoilers: yes Jade.
"Is that okay for me to do?"
no subject
But he turns to give her a kiss on the cheek back before lacing his fingers between hers.
its more than ok
its totally awesome
no subject
"I think it's awesome too. I like it when you do stuff like that."
no subject
ill do it more often then
i mean ill try
im basically flawless at this type of shit
He's pretty sure she knows that's an outright lie. He's terrible at it.

"So cool."
no subject
im the coolest
duh

Dude, you're not having a seizure from all the flashing and bad animation, are you?
no subject
cant even enjoy something i technically made
man
i sure do suffer for my art
[Even if it was in webcomic form and not...on a screen. In motion. Whatever.]

no subject
it was an alternate older me that made it
but the webcomic i updated is basically this
only it was a comic and not a movie
funny how universes work
[Welp.]
also all the symbolism that was probably thrown in here
social commentary
etc
completely lost on me
no subject
Well, I'm just glad it's not just me who is missing that.
Don't tell Dirk that I have no idea about any of the ironic social commentary going on.
So, your world has alternate universes and stuff? You sound like you're comfortable with the idea.
no subject
even he probably doesnt get all of it sometimes
yea
you kind of get used to it after being told your universe was made by another universe full of trolls
also time traveling makes it less of a surprise
its not like its worth getting my panties in a bunch for
no subject
That's pretty crazy, but I guess it's not so much weirder than this place. It totally feels like it's out of some funky sci-fi game.
I guess if it felt less like a game, I might freak out about it more.
no subject
you get used to it after awhile
its not really worth freaking out about
like how theres a bunch of mes that can talk
not freaking out about that either
